About Xamtec

Xamtec (Online Examination Center) is a frequently used digital assessment venue located in the Rajarhat-Gopalpur area of North 24 Parganas, Kolkata. Specifically, it is situated in Narayanpur (East Beraberi). For candidates, this center is known for being slightly deep within the Rajarhat suburbs. While it is well-equipped with modern computer labs, its location can be a bit tricky to navigate due to the narrow approach roads. It is highly recommended to reach the 217 Bus Stand landmark, as the center is just a short 2–5 minute walk from there.

How To Reach Xamtec

Comprehensive location and transport guide

Nearest Airport

  • Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU): The airport is very close, located approximately 4–6 km away. Travel Time: Roughly 15 to 25 minutes depending on the Kaikhali traffic.
  • Main & Nearest Bus Stand: Hiring an Uber or Ola is the most convenient option. Alternatively, you can take a yellow taxi or an auto-rickshaw from the Kaikhali More (which is just outside the airport area).

Railway Station

  • Malda Town Railway Station (MLDT): The Malda Town Railway Station (MLDT) is the primary railway station and is located roughly 5 km away from the center. It usually takes 15 to 20 minutes to reach the venue from the station.
  • How to reach: Upon exiting the station, you will find a large stand for Totos (e-rickshaws) and traditional cycle rickshaws. A Toto is the most practical way to reach the Gabgachi area. A shared ride will cost you about ₹20, while booking a private Toto should range between ₹80 and ₹120.

Metro Station

Metro Connectivity is Not Available in This Area

Bus Connectivity

  • Main & Nearest Bus Stand: The Malda NBSTC Bus Terminus (Mokdumpur) is the main bus stand, located about 5–6 km from the exam center. Additionally, there is a local drop-off point at the Gabgachi Bypass More, which is within walking distance of the venue.
  • Bus Route: State-run NBSTC buses and private coaches from Kolkata, Siliguri, and Raiganj stop at the main Malda terminus. From the bus stand, you can find local buses or e-rickshaws heading toward the Bypass/Gabgachi area. Local transport is frequent and very affordable, typically costing between ₹15 and ₹30 for a shared ride.

Local Taxi / Auto

  • App-based services: Ola and Uber have limited presence here; it is highly recommended not to rely solely on them for a time-sensitive exam shift. Rapido (bike taxi) is sometimes available and can be a quick alternative.
  • Taxi Fares: Local private taxis are available for hire near the station for longer distances or if you are carrying heavy luggage, with fares starting at approximately ₹250–₹300.

Why Candidate Reviews Matter

Real reviews from candidates who have previously appeared for exams at Xamtec in Kolkata are among the most reliable sources of practical information. These reviews cover critical aspects such as the quality of seating arrangements, availability of drinking water, washroom facilities, staff behavior, entry gate procedures, and general cleanliness of the premises — details that are rarely mentioned in official notifications but matter greatly on exam day.

Candidates who share their experience also help future exam-goers make smarter decisions about which hotel to book, which transport route to take, and how early to leave from their accommodation. ExamStay encourages every candidate to write a brief, honest review after their exam — even a few lines can make a big difference for someone appearing at Xamtec for the first time.

The exam centre was good overall. The location was convenient and easy to find. I arrived early, All formalities, including ID verification and seating arrangements, were handled smoothly and efficiently. The staff were approachable, professional, and very helpful throughout the process. The environment inside was quiet, with no outside noise or disturbances, allowing for full concentration. The ambience was calm and comfortable, and the centre was clean and well-maintained. The systems worked perfectly, with no technical glitches. A very positive and stress-free exam experience.

While the basic infrastructure of the exam center is acceptable and the IT equipment is functional, its overall size is limited, and the bag check area is notably small. The primary concern, however, is the center's inconvenient location. Despite the availability of public transport routes such as the 211, 217, and 91C buses, the journey from major hubs like Ultadanga and Sealdah is hindered by significant overcrowding and extended travel times. For the convenience and safety of all candidates, particularly female candidates, SSC should carefully review its selection of this center for future examinations.

My request to all exam authorities:
Please do not treat the lives of aspirants as a joke. Even if it costs a bit more, kindly ensure that the exam centers are of a decent standard. When exams are held in such poor-quality centers, a candidate’s efficiency can drop by 30% to even 90%.

Please inspect the centers thoroughly before finalizing them. Just having computers and internet connectivity is not enough. This was one of the worst centers — not only in terms of electronics and management but also in terms of basic communication.

Its an online examination centre but not good enough as TCS Gitobitan.
The centre looks like a guest house taken on rent. Computer systems looks old and outdated. Toilets were very dirty and unhygienic. They don't even provide place to keep bags. Students have to keep their bag at shop outside of the centre by paying for it.
