About Digital Computer Education

Digital Computer Education is a prominent online examination and training center located in the Kachi Chawni area of Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. For candidates, this center is highly advantageous due to its central location in one of Jammu city's most established commercial and educational hubs. Situated on the Exchange Road, it is surrounded by several other coaching institutes and libraries, making it a well-known landmark for locals and transporters alike. The area is dense with amenities, including stationery shops, pharmacies, and small cafes, which are convenient for students needing last-minute supplies or a quick snack. While the central location is great for accessibility, the narrow lanes of Kachi Chawni can get congested during peak morning hours, so arriving 30 minutes early is recommended to navigate the street traffic comfortably.

How To Reach Digital Computer Education

Comprehensive location and transport guide

Nearest Airport

  • Jammu Airport (Satwari - IXJ): The airport is approximately 8–10 km from the center. The drive usually takes 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.
  • How to reach: Upon landing, you can hire a private taxi from the prepaid counter or use the GoaMiles app (which is functional in parts of Jammu) or local cab services. A taxi ride will cost roughly ₹400–₹600. For a budget option, you can take a local bus or shared auto from the airport gate to Jewel Chowk and then take another short auto ride to Kachi Chawni.

Railway Station

  • Jammu Tawi Railway Station (JAT): Jammu Tawi Railway Station (JAT) is the main Railway station, located about 5–6 km away. Travel Time: It typically takes 15 to 20 minutes by road.
  • How to reach: From the railway station, you can hire a private auto-rickshaw for approximately ₹150–₹200. Alternatively, walk to the station's bus stand and board a Matador heading towards "Parade" via "Kachi Chawni." Tell the driver: "Kachi Chawni, Exchange Road pe Digital Computer Education jana hai."

Metro Station

Metro Connectivity is Not Available in This Area

Bus Connectivity

  • General Bus Stand Jammu: General Bus Stand Jammu is the primary terminal for inter-state buses and is located just 1.5 km from the center. Nearest Bus Stop: Kachi Chawni Chowk or Exchange Road Stop are the closest local drops, just a 2 to 5-minute walk from the institute.
  • Bus Routes: Connectivity is excellent. Almost any local minibus (Matador) labeled "Kachi Chawni," "Parade," or "Panjtirthi" from the Main Bus Stand or Railway Station will drop you at the Kachi Chawni Chowk. The fare is very nominal, usually ₹10–₹20.

Local Taxi / Auto

  • App-Based Services: While global apps like Uber/Ola are not yet fully established here, local services and InDrive are often used. However, traditional auto-rickshaws remain the most reliable way to navigate the Kachi Chawni lanes.

Worst experience. Came at 7 am for CGL first shift exam only to now it is cancelled. Like seriously is it a joke? Tcs centre at kalu chak is much better than this in every criteria.

This is the SSC (ediquity) 2025 exam centre. My CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam was conducted here on 17th of sept. in the afternoon shift. The Server, hardware and other technical aspects are not as good as TCS exams. From 5 minutes before my exam till the start of the exam , all the systems in my room stopped working, every student was clicking the login button , but the system was giving no response. Then, after clicking again and again the system started the exam instantly, which is quite troublesome and scary. But there was no issue after the exam started.

Another issue is related to the user interface of the exam , it is not user friendly, because in most exams and mock test websites the interface is designed to scroll up and down to see the answer and options ( if the question is very lengthy). But , in this ediquity user interface, you have to scroll or move your screen frame to left and right also, which is not easy as the mouse dpi is very low.

Another issue if i further add , is that the chairs are mostly made out of steel/aluminium etc. , not the bluish cushioning chairs which we see in TCS labs. It also gives little bit trouble , considering that you have to sit in the exam hall for at least 1:30 hr.

Another issue is that there is no countdown timer as we see in TCS exam , which tells you how many minutes are left for your exam to start.

Another issue is that the desk space is little less compared to the tcs exam's desk space. you will feel little trouble solving your math questions on the desk because of the less desk space. you have to remove the keyboard from the desk and place it in the slanting position to make more space.

Another issue is that the size of the rough sheet is very small , not even a standard A4 size. You may need 2nd sheet if you are not good at rough sheet space management.
